Isaiah 45

The LORD addresses Cyrus by name as His anointed instrument, whom He equips though Cyrus does not know Him, “that people may know... that there is none besides me.” He is the sovereign Creator who forms light and darkness, and He issues the great gospel summons, “Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth!... To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear allegiance.”
