Ezekiel 37

In the book’s most famous vision, Ezekiel is set down in a valley full of dry bones and told to prophesy; the bones come together, are covered with flesh, and, at the breath of God, live and stand as a vast army — a picture of God raising the “dead” house of Israel from the grave of exile to new life. He then joins two sticks into one, signifying the reunion of Israel and Judah under one king, “my servant David,” in an everlasting covenant of peace.
