1 Chronicles study chapter

1 Chronicles 25

c. 971 BCThe temple musicians of Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun are set in their courses.

David and the commanders set apart the temple musicians — the sons of Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun — to prophesy with lyres, harps, and cymbals, giving thanks and praising the LORD. They too are divided by lot into twenty-four courses, “small and great, teacher and pupil alike,” so that skilled, God-centered worship in song is woven permanently into the life of the house of God.
