1 Chronicles 10

The narrative proper begins with the death of Saul and his sons on Mount Gilboa. The Chronicler gives the theological verdict plainly: Saul died for his unfaithfulness, because he broke faith with the LORD, did not keep His word, and even consulted a medium, so the LORD put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David. His failure frames everything that follows.
